You are what you eat. How many times have you heard that phrase? Too many? Don’t worry that is not what I am going to be writing about in the post. You are what you do. That is what I am going to be talking about. A lot more encouraging if you ask me. Of course what you do isn’t all of who you are, but a lot of who you are is what you do.
Where am I going with this? Throughout typical WIAW meal photos I am going to share three things that I wish I did more often. Things that I love doing but can’t seem to prioritize. Things that make me me.
Sometimes a traditional breakfast is exactly what I’m craving: Toast (with cream cheese and peanut butter) eggs, fruit, and yogurt (and coffee).
Thing #1: Creative Writing
One of my favourite activities in English class when I was growing up was creative writing exercises. I loved when the teacher would give us three words and we would have to come up with a paragraph involving them all. I keep a creative writing journal but I don’t write near as often as I want to.
Korean Corn Pop with lots of toppings.
I’m not normally a huge fan of rice. Chelsea from Chelsea’s Healthy Kitchen recommended I try short grain brown rice so of course I did. I did like the texture much more than Basmati rice and can definitely see myself making it again. I would still choose bread over rice any day though.
Thing #2: Dance classes.
I occasionally take a dance class and am always amazed at how fast time flies and how much fun I have. A lot of the time when I want to go I don’t because I don’t want to shell out the cash they ask for but I still want to get into a more regular habit of going. It’s not like I’m paying for gym membership. Isn’t that justification enough?
Banana and berry frozen yogurt (made with a Yonanas) with pumpkin seeds, and protein powder
Thing #3: Learning French
I usually learn one new french word a day. Which would be great progress. Except I forget the new word by the next day. I have always wanted to learn french well enough to be fluent in it. I think what I really need are some fluent friends to get the push. It is hard to learn alone!
Tempeh Lettuce Wraps
What something you want to do more? What is your favourite rice type? What is your traditional go-to breakfast?
