It’s been a long time since I have participated in WIAW but in light of my more personal post last week I figured it would be an excellent opportunity to get some feedback on my daily meals. Since I wanted to be able to gather some meaningful input I have actually put together a true full day of eats without place holders. So, as always, let’s start with…


Overnight Oat bran: 1/3 cup oat bran, 1/4 cup egg whites, 3/4 cup liquid, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 2 tbsp protein powder, 1 tbsp pea fiber. Topped with 1/4 cup greek yogurt, 1 tbsp peanut flour, and 1 tbsp toasted soy nuts. With a regular mound of fruit: 1/2 grapefruit, 2 handfuls of frozen cranberries, 2 handfuls of frozen blueberries, 2 pieces of pummello


A wheat berry, barley with tomatoes casserole on a bed of spinach with biscru crackers. I got these crackers because they were on clearance and the ingredient list was awesome. I am really impressed with this product. The texture is perfect for a cracker (not too crunchy but stable enough to scoop) and they have enough flavor that they could be eaten on their own.

Afternoon snack:

A crunchy corn cake (still one of my favorite snacks), a piece of sport loaf (still my favorite store bought bread), and 1 large apple (still my favorite fruit). Don’t let me forget the mug of tea (genmaicha)!


Tuna, sauerkraut, hummus and spinach wrap with greek yogurt dip and lots and lots of veggies (kabocha, turnip, cauliflower and broccoli)


Apple with peanut flour, greek yogurt, and ruddy red cocoa powder.


One of my favorite things about reading WIAW posts is that I am always inspired to try new foods or combinations.

One of my favorite things about writing WIAW posts is it gives me the ability to look back and reflect on my favorite meal of the day. This day’s favorite meal was: dinner. I love tuna even by itself but when it is all wrapped up with hummus, sauerkraut and spinach it goes to a whole new level.
