For the most part I try to avoid false sweeteners other then stevia. I stay away from diet pops, and protein powder with splenda. However every once in a while something chemically delicious comes about. Lately that has been:
Greek Pudding
- 1.25 cups of greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp instant pudding mix
The only thing you have to do is mix!

As soon as I had this greek pudding I knew what would be next….
Pudding Oat Bran
Edible Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup oat bran
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1.5 cups of cold Sweet Lemon Green Tea
- 5 drops of Capella Vanilla Cupcake Flavor Drops
- sweetener, dash of salt
- 1 tbsp Lemon Instand Pudding Mix
- 1/2 cup greek
Edible Ingredients:
- Mix 1.5 cups of cold tea with 1/3 cup of oat bran, salt and sweetener. Microwave for 2 min. Stir. Microwave for 1 min. Let sit for 5 min.
- Mix in 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 tbsp of instant pudding mix, and 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- Let sit over night (If you want to skip this step, add less liquid)

This breakfast was eaten on the go. I’ve got no shame in reusing an old cottage cheese container walking down the street.

Do you try to stay away from aspartame and splenda? What products do you consume that have fake sweeteners?

awesome idea!!! that looks supppppper good!
and the only fake sweetener i use is stevia
This looks good. I busted out laughing at using an old cottage cheese container
I would do that more if I actually saved the containers!
What a fabulous invention!! Man that sounds good
Sometimes the fake sweeteners make me oober queasy…or gassy haha, so I try my best to steer clear, especially some protein bars on the market.
I have done this before too… so so good! I like the cheesecake and butterscotch ones, bring on them fake sugars please
Oooh that looks awesome!!! Does it taste sweet or does it retain the sourness of greek yogurt?
The pistachio flavour literally made my mouth water. I love pistachios! I like the occasional diet cola and will use sweetener in coffee if it’s a bit too strong. I just ordered some stevia on iHerb as I’ve never had it before
Ummm….this is ahamzing! I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this!!! SO exciting! I lovee pudding
Wait– so it’s possible to only use SOME of a jello packet!? I had no idea!
I drink diet soda sometimes as a treat, but I use to eat it straight up (Well not straight up but like mixed into stuff)
I’m afraid I’m going to get metabolic syndrome later on in life though, so I try to avoid aspertame.
What an innovative idea! I didn’t even know they had pistachio flavoured pudding! I stay away from splenda/aspartame/sorbitol/etc because they give me stomach complications (plus I can’t stand the artificial taste)
I’m not gonna lie… I actually do this with a lot of my yogurt messes. I just never wanted to admit it on the blog! I usually add it after taking the picture. Butterscotch is my personal favorite. It’s an easy way to get fun flavors, and it’s not really that much artificial stuff when you consider the fact that you’re using such a small amount! I don’t even measure, just sprinkle on a little bit. The box lasts a really long time and it’s way cheaper than some other flavorings!
I don’t buy any products with fake sweeteners. I don’t even like Stevia, because I think it has a bitter aftertaste. I’m not afraid of real sweeteners like honey and maple syrup. I just like to be as natural as possible. Honestly, it kind of weirds me out that something can be so sweet and contain zero calories. Hello, chemicals. (Stevia is an exception because it comes from a plant, but like I said, I don’t like the taste.)
Pistachio jello
Love both recipe’s. I wonder if I tried to make it but used oats?
Yum! Looks delicous!
I also try to stay away from false sweeteners other than Stevia.
LOVE this idea!
I try to stay away from fake sugars for the most part, but sometimes I get a diet coke craving that I can’t deny. It’s usually only about once per week though!
OMG. I MUST HAVE THAT GREEK PUDDING! and I totally re-use old containers – we are a very recycle-conscious family lol so we literally save EVERYTHING – we use them for leftovers, packing lunches, etc etc.
I don’t really avoid fake sweeteners – I tried Truvia once but it really bothers my stomach for some reason….I’ve never noticed a bad effect of any kind (appetite, weight, stomach issues, whatnot) from the fake stuff…I dunno haha. I know, I’m a bad foodie
This sounds delicious! I would have never thought of that! I especially love that you used pistachio <3 I don't really ever go for products that have fake sugar in them although like you said I do eat stevia sometimes too.
I’m with you– I try my best to eat food in it’s natural state but once in a while I have to try something! That pudding looks delicious- I definitely have a soft spot in my heart (must be from childhood) for jello pudding mix!
xo
Jocelyn
I try to stay away from sweeteners, but I’m guilty of making brownie mixes and candy corn…of course.
Dang–I don’t even like pudding and that still looks good! I absolutely try to avoid fake sugar, but there’s a realllly good diet cherry soda I’ll buy every once in a while as a treat, maybe every other week or so.
This look soooo good! Yeah I use splenda, I eat healthily in every other way so why not? haha. I wish jello pud mix was in the uk too. I’m very impressed yu managed to eat it walking down the street woohoo!
Haha – love the cottage cheese container!!! Recycling at its finest
The only fake sweetener I use is stevia. But that pudding/oats looks pretty fantastic!
<3 <3
um yummmmmmm! such a great ideaaa!!!
I do avoid fake sweeteeners because I don’t like the taste. The only exception is the occasional Fresca, but now I think I need greek pudding!
I avoid them because my body completely rejects them (not pretty tummy probs!) I can’t believe I used to drink so much diet soda back in the day! Looks amazing though, they should totally make stevia sweetened jello!
I am trying to avoid fake sweeteners…but it doesn’t stop me from chewing gum. I gotta have my gum
I’ve been using stevia to sweeten tea, coffee however. And I try to avoid processed/commercial foods that contain fake sweeteners.
I don’t think I’ve had a soda in almost two years…so I’ve avoided fake sweeteners there!
I LOVE the idea of mixing greek yogurt and pudding! It sounds amazing.
I used to do that all the time…I don’t know why I stopped because it rocks!! Thanks for the delicious reminder.
I try to avoid artificial sweetener too, but it pops up every now and then! I use to eat those pudding mixes all the time and never thought to mix them with Greek yogurt..Great idea!
I love using old containers to eat stuff out of. Cool whip is one of my favorite containers
Yes I definitely stay away from those sweeteners! They make me feel gross.
I have read a lot about the negatives of aspartame, but I still have one diet coke every morning- it gets me going!
Wow! What a great idea. I love pudding too!

Oh yes faux sweeteners are gross. Just pure chemicals. If I have a craving for something sweet I’ll use stevia.
