We all have our sayings right? Some say wicked, some say hurray, some say…something else. I say adaga badaga. You have no idea how many times I haven’t written adaga badaga in a post or comment, to then realize that no one knows what it means. But my backspace button is getting tired, so I figured I would clear it up over at the WIAW party hosted by the lovely Peas and Crayons
Breakfast:
{Oat Bran Method using Tetley Blueberry Ginseng Tea and vanilla extract}
Adaga Badaga: the thought of pleasure.
Ex: As I insert the first spoonful of oat bran I think “adaga badaga, that is delicious”. The winner this morning was Blueberry Muffin oat bran. It was made with cooled blueberry tea, and I mixed in greek yogurt before tucking it into bed the fridge for the night.

Morning Snack:

{breadie (recipe coming soon) with peanut butter + apple}
Adaga Badaga: the oh no sigh
Ex: You remember when I took a tumble? Well all of my runs after that I could feel a tiny little pull in my groin. But not even enough to remember after my run. Until my Saturday run when something aggravated it, because I could hardly walk all Saturday and Sunday…adaga badaga.
Lunch:

{Purple people eater alligator stew: (Blueberries, Cranberries, spinach vanilla protein powder, cold blueberry tea, and xanthan gum)}
Adaga Badaga: the sigh of relief
Ex: After icing (yes, it is akward to ice your groin in case you were wondering) and a few days rest I went for a run on, and adaga badaga the pain was minimal, what a relief! Sure, my pace was slower and I couldn’t do hills, but that’s not what matters right now!
Snack:

Adaga Badaga: an exclamation of excitement
Ex: On the weekend I bought a new mug, and exclaimed “adaga badaga”! It’s big and wide enough to be used as a bowl!

sheep yogurt (very good!), apples, blueberries, hemp hearts
Dinner:

Adaga badaga: a mutter of annoyance
Ex: When someone leaves the watermelon/milk/yogurt out of the fridge and it gets warm, adaga badaga
Snack:

Adaga Badaga: the sigh of contentment
Ex. Relaxing into bed after an relaxing day, adaga badaga.

Puffy Protein Pudding, but with 2 tbsp of Bob’s Red Mill Hemp Protein Powder

Is there a word you catch yourself always saying?

Love this SO much!! All of your eats always make me so hungry, I mean that lunch?! Yum! And I’m loving your new mug– agada bagada that’s epic!
I find myself always saying “freakin” and “holy shivers,” it takes a lot of self control for me not to put it in my posts like a billion times haha!
Puffy Protein Pudding loving it
I like the new mug/bowl! Yummy wiaw eats!!
When I talk to people apparently I overuse the word awesome.
Oatmeal made with blueberry tea?! sold!!! Sheeps milk yogurt sounds interesting! I think I would try it. & I started reading outlanders and am liking it btw!
I love the mug/cup! So cute! The sheep milk sounds cool…wait it is from Ontario..hence it is cool
Happy WIAW!
I love your new mug—seriously buying random bowls and cups makes me happy! And the protein pudding looks sooooo good! Adaga Badaga!!
this post. is. hilarious.
I say “yikes” way too often and I really don’t like it. It just slips out.
Adaga badaga your eats look delicious! Did I use it correctly? To be honest, I’ve never heard of that phrase before, but I definitely have phrases and words that I use way too ofter. Errr. Definitely being one of them – I seem to say that a lot. And, like your stereotypical Canadian, I end a lot of my sentences in… eh?
Gotta represent the homeland. And I absolutely love eating out of mugs. For whatever reason, they just make everything taste so much better. Hope you’re having an awesome Wednesday!
Yup, you did use it correctly
I know what you mean eh?
Your eats look soooo flipping good.
I’ve never heard of Adaga badaga! It sounds super awesome tho lol, and i love the looks of that oatbran! im hooked on oatbran these days
I am so getting “adaga badaga” stuck in my head today!
Sheep’s milk yoghurt, where do you get that? I say a lot of weird things to myself: Oh schnappppppps
I got it from a natural food store that’s pretty small/local. I’ve never seen it at a chain grocery store before though.
I’ve noticed that I say the phrase “I mean” a lot when I’m talking to people, and it’s completely unnecessary. “I mean, I think you should buy the shirt, because it looks great on you.” The other day, I caught myself uttering it to many times that I started to get annoyed with myself. I can only imagine how annoyed others get when they keep hearing me say it! I also use dorky words like “alrighty.” I wish I didn’t, haha!
ahhh i just want power again so I can make deliciousness like you!
I like your saying. Adaga Badaga that I found an open outlet in Starbucks this morning!
Hahaaa you are funny girly! I’ve never heard that phrase before but it’s hilarious!! I use the typical English overuse of ‘like’ way too many times in my sentences..I get so annoyed at myself for doing it!
All of your eats look absolutely YUM, please can I come over for dinner?! And I’m excited for the bread recipe!!
that seems like a good word to use as your general word, mine tends to some how be a curse word good or bad and I think I need to think of something new!!
your food looks wonderful! i sure hope your groin gets better, that is painfully annoying!
Feel free to use adaga badaga in your comments on my blog, now that I know what it means! That’s such a random phrase. I say “holy ___!” and “oh my ____!” a lot. The blanks could be anything. usually a food. Muffins, broccolini, nuggets… my replacements for some not so nice words
I still need to try the puffy protein pudding. It looks to darn delicious!
Yummy eats! The alligator stew looks delish.
Adaga badaga is something I’ve never heard before! Did you just come up with it randomly? My boyfriend and I say ahh or aww shucks all the time. lol
It just randomly popped in to my head one day long ago, and I’ve never been able to get it out since
Can I sing it to the tune of Hakuna Matata?
And I love the giant mug, I want to find one of those! I use the word fabulous too much, but it’s not nearly as unique as yours
This is so cute! I usually use “wahoo,” or something like that. I like that adaga badaga has many meanings, though. Your new mug is really pretty! I love mugs that are big enough to use as bowls.
I say fabulous and deeeeeelightful a lot haha.
this is awesome! I go through phases with words I often use, but I think I’m in between phases right now – I can’t think of any!
I NEED the secret to your delicious looking oatbran. I looked at all your recipies, but still haven’t quite figured it out (yeah, I’m slow like that
)
All your eats looks scrumtious!
love the puffy protein pudding!!! your eats look phenommm
your oats look amazing
LOVE that new mug! I like how it says salt and pepper on the handle inside. All of your eats always look so good!
Hhaaha you are too funny Sarah!
And that mug is awfully cute!
I have never thought of the oatmeal combination you did… I am rather intrigued! Thanks for the idea
I love your saying! Adorable! I always say holy cannoli. Yes. I’m cool.
I say “Hella” way too much. It’s something I am working on. I also say “peace out trout” everytime I leave somewhere. This food looks amazeeeeee!
Adage Badaga! I love it! Are we allowed to *borrow* this expression from you?
Yes, you definitely can!
Please post that recipe SOONer rather than later, whatever is in that “breadie” looks fantastic. As do all of your eats. You’re so creative with all your food!
As inappropriate as it is, the only word I say is “balllss” when I’m frustrated/annoyed/scared. Instead of cussing, I take it down a notch and that just happens to be the word that comes out of my mouth. Yours is way better and much more applicable!
Awww! That’s just such an adorable word!
Now it’ll be stuck in my head for the rest of the day!
Glad your err, groin..is feeling better!
Haha you are too funny! I find myself saying “flipping” a lot instead of the F word.
I love your new mug! I’m obsessed with mugs that can be used as bowls. I find a lot of good ones at Pier 1!
Just another AMAZING WIAW from Sarah at Feeding Brain and Body! Whenever there is some sort of conflict, I always seem to call it a schpil. My grandparents and Dad always say schpil, so I must of gotten it from them. It’s Yiddish for conflict or argument. It’s such a funny word to say though.
wow. pictures and eats galore!! I need another link to your overnight oats tutorial
As for things I’m always saying, I’m a bit old fashioned and I’m always saying ‘understandably so” and “to be sure” and “indeed” haha
Hehe, I love old fashioned sayings
Okay, here is the oatbran tutorial: http://feeedingbrainandbody.wordpress.com/2011/08/22/a-definetly-delisious-and-voluptuous-oatbran-trick/ I hope it works for you
adaga badaga? Haha. Definitely never heard that one before.
I say “yowza!!”
LOVE that mug!
yum-o! looking forward to the bread recipe
I’m a huge fan of ridiculous words! I have a tendency to use “feast” and “pillage” for many things other than what they actually mean…for example when I’m injured or in pain: “man, this injury feasts/pillages (sucks)”; “my ankle is feasting on me! (hurting me)”; “I can’t believe I just pillaged (devoured) that whole pint of ice cream”; “I just FEASTED on that test (totally rocked it)”. etc.
Also I’m obsessed with that oat bran idea!!! flavoring with tea!! I have SO MANY different flavors of tea, like a cabinet full, but I don’t really drink them that much so they just sit there – yesss now I can feast (literally)!
Hope your groin is healing well! take it slow and easy!
adaga badaga….i need you to vlog about this saying so we know how to pronounce it. and yes, sheeps milk yogurt is Aga baga….can I shorten it?
