Hello mon petit choux! Since the summer’s end is fast approaching I’ve decided to post a little less often in order to appreciate every moment of freedom before the semester days begin. I still have 1.5 weeks of work left, but then I have 13 days of complete nothingness before classes begin.
Since many American schools begin sooner, I’m sure many of you are starting to get busy. That’s why I’ve decided to share some busy blogger tips that I’ve adopted throughout the summer months of working full time. Don’t worry folks, I will share these tips while we feast at the WIAW party!
***IMPORTANT: 1) I didn’t manage to get a pick of all my fruit/nut snacking. 2) Hover your mouse over the picture for the description (my attempt at trying to make my post less wordy!)***
Breakfast:

Tip #1: Multitasking
Breakfast is savored while catching up with all my blogging friends. One of my favorite things about the blogosphere is reading all of your posts, and getting to know my friends each and every day. For me, reading is more important then posting!

Morning Snack:
Tip #2: Use notebooks
Often when I go on a run I will think of something incredibly insightful I want to write about, most often then not by the time the endorphins level off I realize that my idea wasn’t that great after all. Sometimes when running I think everything is sunshine and lollypops. For the times I ACTUALLY do come up with something, I write it down in my notebook when I get home. If I’m every stumped about what to write about I can just refer to my list!

Lunch:

Tip#3: Using Features
If you use WordPress, take advantage of the features. I insert my pictures using HTML because it’s much faster especially to edit the size. I also take advantage of the scheduling button, so I can post at a consistent time.
Afternoon Snack Break:
Tips # 4: Every minute counts
During breaks at work I use google docs to write up my post sans photographs and read through for spelling and grammar errors. That way when in the evening all that’s left is inserting pictures, links, and formatting.

Dinner:
Tip # 5: Don’t do what I do
I’m a compulsive over editor (although I bet I still miss plenty of mistakes). I probably re-read my already edited post at least 5 times before finishing. Perhaps that’s why I try not be so wordy! Either way multiple edits are not worth the time or energy. I enjoy reading your posts more then re-reading mine!

Snack:
Totally fabulous find: protein gelato, at a local Gelato store. Beat that Fro-yo!

It was tasty, but next time I will go for the chocolate or cappucinno flavor. The vanilla bean reminded me of vanilla Rolaids, of which I am not best friends with.
Tip #6: No Stress
Don’t stress if you don’t have time to get a post out!

Do you think you come up with amazing ideas while running/exercising? Have you had any fabulous finds recently?

great tips! I do my best blog post brainstorming while running. I feel like I could conquer the world during a good run
My latest fabulous find is unsweetened vanilla coconut milk, kind of obsessed with the stuff.
Protein gelato?! cool! dang your eats look good, even if you are busybusy! Happy WIAW
OMG that protein gelato looks incredible!! What a great find!
And I love your tips, I’m like you, I love reading blogs much more than posting. I think it’s because I’m an over editor too haha
Instead of getting ideas on a run, I always think of blog ideas when I’m sleeping, it’s weird!
Happy WIAW girly!
Yum, your eats look good. Chocolate oats are the best!!
Reading blogs with breakfast is one of my favorite things to do as well
It sounds like you have a mighty busy schedule, but I’m so glad you manage to make time to blog! I truly do enjoy reading
Great tips, girl! Blogging can feel like a part time job sometimes… especially because I’m like you and tend to spend a lot of time over-editting
I usually never sit down to blog in one big chunk of time… I spread it out in increments throughout the day and do all my photo stuff at the end. I’m lucky because my job isn’t too demanding and I have plenty of spare time, but I have absolutely no idea how some bloggers manage a family, a job, a life, and blogging…
LOVE your eats girl!! i lilovee tip 6!
Great tips girly! Blogging can definitely feel like a job sometimes and it’s almost like a compulsion to do it to please readers which it shouldn’t be at all! Blogging should definitely just be a small part of everyday life because in reality, we should be living in the real world and having fun!
That protein gelato sounds AMAZING!! You were so lucky to find that!!
Great eats girly
I come up with ideas whilst I’m in the gym yep! My mind just wanders it’s so weird…
This is such a cute idea! I think of ideas when I’m laying in bed at night and think I’ll remember in the morning-that never happens.
Gimme some of that protein gelato!
I usually think of blog ideas while I’m walking or riding my horse… but then I often don’t remember them when I get back home, lol
And that protein gelato look so yum!
<3 <3
That gelato sounds awesome! I love finding new products. Sadly, I haven’t had any good finds recently. I agree with you on the notebook tip. Writing things down helps me stay organized. Although, not stressing is probably the best tip of them all! Too bad it’s so hard to follow!
Neat gelato!! I’m the same way- I like reading more than writing. But I have a tendency to post super quickly and not edit!
I loove this post and that protein gelato looks awesome!
I always feel like my posts are too wordy, too haha. How did you do that awesome hover caption??
My mind is always sunshine and lollipops when exercising as well! Haha! I go into a complete imagination-land.
I often post my posts then edit them afterwards to find so many weird errors (and fix them immediately of course), like the other day i found that i had wrote ‘stalking’ when i meant ‘stocking’ ,whaaaaaat?
That gelato looks amazing
great tips!
haha I love what you think about on your run because I do the same thing!!! yesterday during my run all I could think about was things to write about in the blog.. then my mind ventured over to puppies… and then I thought about the rain. haha ahh the joys of going into the zone
I’m always multitasking when i’m on the computer. I’m usually doing something else or I have multiple websites open, its very productive
And I agree, reading posts is much better than writing them. I probably need to re-read mine more though, sometimes I don’t even read though it once before posting, and I have to go back and fix it later on.
These are great tips! I do number one almost every morning.
Nothin like blog readin and my oats.
Sometimes come upwith good ideas while walking or doing yoga, but I never have a pen handy.
Your eats look so good.
Bringing a notebook to the treadmill is GENIUS, for both blogging and non-blogging purposes! That really is my prime “think time,” but it’s usually gone by the time I finish running, go lift weights and get home and shower. And I got Outlander in the mail yesterday, so I’ll be starting the series soon!
I do a lot of daydreaming while exercising, so I don’t have many bright ideas. I do brainstorm and make lists at work though!
Great tips! I’m eager to try the protein gelato!! Yumm!
Love the tips you gave! I spend time looking at blogs during breakfast too
I’m so glad I found your blog!
Blog ideas come to me when I’m at the gym, too! I guess all of those endorphins make me think happy, inspiring thoughts!
Wow! What an awesome looking gelato! Why can’t I have cool stuff like that where I live!?
Love me some gelato!
I do some of the same things, especially read other blogs while eating breakfast. It’s my quiet time in the morning to catch up with everyone else while enjoying a meal. Not looking forward to school starting back up in 2 weeks cause that time will be gone- back to work!
Great tips Sarah!
And yes to that Gelato, get me some of that please
I always read blogs and comment when I am eating breakfast… it’s my favorite time of the morning
Awesome blog tips!
Protein Gelato now that’s a great find
great tips friend. And I couldn’t agree more, enjoy that freedom time. Its precious! Now I must find that gelato!
great tips! i def utilize the notebook technique and always am jotting random ideas down in mine! it helps soooo much! <3
Happy WIAW!!!!! xoxo
omgomgomgomg. im like freaking out right now. i need to try some of that gelato asap! it’s vegan AND protein packed? come to mama!!!
Awesome tips! I love that you’re so laid back about this kind of thing, I’ve seen a lot of tips that are written with a ‘this is law’ tone, which is not super fun.
And omigod, I’m dying for that protein gelato! I wonder if I could find any near me…
Thanks for these tips!! as a newbie blogger I’m definitely finding myself needing them at the moment. That protein gelato looks like gods gift to humans! Ugh man I wish they had that in the US!!
I always come up with my best thoughts while I’m in motion – usually the ones that are actually legit come when I’m running (usually all I think when I’m on the elliptical/stat bike is “ughh i hate this am I done yet” hahaha), and they’re usually about…running. or how running is a metaphor for life. haha.
Enjoy your last few days of freedom!
Where did you find this gelato?!? I want some! Your eats look so good! I love these little tips that you came up with. Great idea. By the way, I went to Rogers Cup tooooo! I was there on the first weekend! So much fun! I don’t know if we ever talked about this, but where exactly are you from? There aren’t many of us Canadian bloggers so it’s fun to find these things out!
i love to-do lists and am constantly writing things down, my brain works at hyper speed! your breakfast looks so great! ahhh–sooo let’s hangout and you can cook me some oats
Wow that gelato looks sort of like Arctic Zero! I’ve never seen that kind before though. It looks good!
Great tips! That protein gelato looks amazing.
Do you think you come up with amazing ideas while running/exercising?
Yes. All the time. Then I come home and realize they actually weren’t that amazing, haha.
Whoa! That gelato nutrition is amazing. Even my banana ice cream can’t beat that, and all my banana ice cream is, is blended frozen bananas!
Protein gelato? My mind. has been. blown. I need to get some of that!
I love the tips! So helpful, as I’ve been working full time and doing summer school (kill me now.)
For me, the thing that saves me the most time is reading all the blogs on my phone, whenever I have a couple spare minutes (on the bus, while dinner is cooking, ect). Then I just star the items I want to comment on
first off I need to find that ice cream. second off I need to read that book and third off I’m going to need recipes for all your breakfasts!
I’ve missed reading your blog so yay I’m back!
I’ve rediscovered all the nut butters in my fridge today because I’ve been at nut free camp all summer!
haha not sure i could eat that gelato after hearing it tastes like vanilla Rolaids but its pretty funny that is what it reminded you of!
Protein gelato? What a great find! I want some now
