We all have our own preferences right? Our own opinions, enjoyments, and pet peeves?
Take for instance one of my food preferences: I don’t like the chocolate chips in mint ice cream. I just don’t, never have and I never will. Yet I worried that if I posted my recipe for Just Me-int ice cream I would be misunderstood for trying to make the recipe healthier. But that’s not the case it’s catered to Just Me!
Just Me-int
Based of Katie’s Icecream recipe}
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/16 tsp salt
- stevia packet
- 1/2 cup almond breeze
- 1/4 cup of coconut milk
- 1/4 tsp pure peppermint extract

Step 2: Pop out and blend in food processor, blender etc (I used magic bullet)
Step 3: Enjoy

It pains me to see others trying to mimic and imitate someone else. However isn’t that how we learn what we truly do love and hate? We see someone else doing it so we give it a try too then we can determine our own opinion. But how will our kids ever learn to form their own opinions if they look up to someone who can’t stand up for what they like? That is why I decided to come up with a few ME things. Which are all things that I can honestly say are my own opinion and not based off anyone elses
- I don’t like raspberries…the seeds get stuck in my teeth
- I
likelove math and school. I just hate the pressure of excelling - I would rather spend money on notebooks, pens/pencils, and books over food. (GASP)
- I prefer running over lifting
- I am a cat person not a dog person. Sure, I have a dog now, but only because my Dad and sister are allergic to cats. Growing up I asked my parents for a cat pretty much everyday for 5 years straight.
I still love Holly though!

Your turn, I would love to hear some things that make you YOU! Things that you honestly enjoy from the bottom of your heart! If you made a Just-Me icecream what would the flavor be?

haha cool post!
Things that define me; I love books, fruits, running, indie films
Just Me Ice-cream = Ube flavored (I only know one restaurant here in Sydney that has it…and crave it like anything!)
“I love math and school. I just hate the pressure of excelling” <–ME TOO!! Calculus is one of my favorite subjects ever, just hate the A+ pressure I put on myself to achieve.
Things that define me: I love science, ocean life, drawing, weight lifting, photography, reading, and I hate cheese, humboldt squid, and horseshoe crabs haha
Haha great post! I love the chocolate chips in mint ice cream. But my favourite brand of mint ice cream has a chocolate fudge ribbon with mint ice cream…so amazing
Ah I pick out the chips in mint chocolate chip ice cream! We should go get ice cream together i’ll eat the chips and you eat the ice cream hahaha!
Things that define me: I’m also a cat person, reading, i prefer intervals over long runs, and i prefer swimming over running
I’m all for doing things that YOU love instead of trying to cater to other people. We’re all different, and we all have our preferences, and that’s perfectly okay
Oh, and I totally feel you on the raspberries… I can’t stand them either
Some things that make me, me… let’s see. I love reading, writing, and learning new things. I love video games and cars. I could probably eat the same almond butter/pudding oatmeal breakfast every day for the rest of my life. I love getting dolled up once in a while, but I spend 90% of my time in workout clothes. I love everything Disney. Aaaannd I’m just a simple old vanilla ice cream kind of girl
Neat post! I hate strawberries and I agree on he mint and chocolate combo. Why feel like you’re mixing mint toothpaste with your dessert? My ice cream would be choco chip cookie dough!
This is a great post! I completely agree on the mint and chip combo one, I am so glad I am not alone on that. I love to read, I don’t really enjoy drinking, an ideal night for me is to get into bed early with a good book, I don’t like to go to the movies…
Just me ice cream- vanilla base with brownie pieces, cookie dough and chocolate sprinkles all mixed in
Well I love the colour pink. I’ve only started liking nuts in the past year, I add sweetner to my coffee and prefer to cycle than run. I think my icecream would have to contain baileys:p
I also cannot stand the chocolate in mint ice cream. Something about frozen chocolate doesn’t excite my tastebuds.
I do NOT like spinach in smoothies, I hate whipped cream even near me, and my favorite thing to eat is anything with salsa and mustard on it-so weird!
no one should judge you for your food preferences! I’ve got so many weird quirks that make me “me.” For example, tags (like clothing tags) and foods that are the color orange give me the heebie jeebies.
I don’t like chips in my ice cream either! I’ll have chocolate shavings, but not chips. I also am not a fan of raspberries… I don’t like soft fruit except bananas. Hmm let’s see… I love studying Spanish. I’ve always excelled with languages and actually look forward to studying that redonkulous amount of words and grammar that my cray cray teacher gives us. I’m the same way about the pressure to excel as well. I love learning and take copious amounts of notes just because I like to know things, but I hate having to be put to the test!
I love math too! All of my friends hate it tho, and think it’s strange that i like it so much, but i like how all the numbers fit in somewhere and that everything just makes sense. If I made the just-me ice cream, i’d make chocolate pb swirl!
I love this! I don’t like tomato seeds (but I like tomatoes)…I always pick them out, I feel like they make my food soggy. I also don’t like drink bubbles (especially milk bubbles, which is why I eat my cereal with kefir…no bubbles!)
I love words and writing and how the right combination of words can create such an effect
I don’t really like dogs…especially larger ones, they scare me and I also don’t like being slobbered on or smelling ‘dog smell’
I despise beer…never have liked it and probably never will
My ice cream: probably chocolate cheese-cakey…I remember Godiva used to make a chocolate cheesecake ice cream which I LOVED but then they stopped
I don’t see the point of milk chocolate anything. I will have dark chocolate with something creamy, but the two cannot be blended. I actually prefer chocolate sorbet over chocolate ice cream – one is creamy, one is rich. I eat certain foods plain and raw, just for texture (like oats sometimes, or veggies). I love studying physics, but am the worst at ever explaining any of it – which is embarrassing at times.
Just Me ice cream? probably almond vanilla bean.
I tried making Katie’s icecream recipe too but just stuck with the vanilla. Love this post though! With all the blog reading I’ve done, I noticed everyone is different and what you may like as far as food or exercise is probably different than someone else, and that’s ok!
My just me ice cream is a tough choice..I love way too many flavors. But right now I’d pick a white chocolate and vanilla base with caramel and fudge swirled in! And mini marshmallows on top.
Sounds like I need to go get some frozen yogurt!
Gotta say, I love my chocolate chips with my mint (tofutti cuties!), but would scoff at the suggestion of adding chocolate chips to PEPPERmint icecream. Which is a long-time fave. In fact, it’s my favorite ice cream flavor, and I feel that makes me pretty me, most people haven’t even heard that it’s an option.
Aw great post!! I actually understand your no chocolate chips in ice cream thing. I don’t like hard chunks of stuff in my ice cream (go away M&M’s and chocolate chips!) because I don’t want to have to chew my ice cream. My Just Me ice cream would be chocolate with peanut butter swirl and (smaaaall) chunks of oreo. Nom nom
Other things that make me me? I truly love frozen yogurt over ice cream. It’s just so smooooth and creamy! And I loooove science and math!
Have a great rest of the week!
<3 <3
That ice cream looks amazing, I am impressed!!
I prefer soft serve to regular ice cream. I prefer shopping for tops than for jeans. I prefer running to lifting. I prefer dancing to singing.
I prefer making this ice cream to everything else I had planned for tomorrow.
I really want to try making my own soft serve like that but still don’t have a strong enough blender for it. Soon, though!!
and thats why we love you. Youre a math loving runner! I wish I like math! I could easily spend money food versus rent! haha.
You made that ice-cream in a magic bullet!!?! Oh gosh I’m so going to give it a try.
Except my “Just Me” flavor would probably have something to do with maple…I used to love maple ice cream but I haven’t found a good vegan alternative. I feel like I could make a maple version of this easy. Thanks!
Btw, I love this post. Just because you enjoy something different, doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you. For me, I could never just eat “one small square of dark chocolate” as desert. I’ve always been a quantity over quality girl when it comes to food, and I would rather have a huge bowl of chocolate tofu pudding than a couple tiny bits of pure chocolate (Like seriously, who can do that!?). I also alter a lot of my baking recipes so there not so rich (eg) Apple sauce to replace part of the oil/butter, stevia to replace half the sugar, ect) . Some people might call that disordered, but its just the way I am and I see no problem.
Im totally a dog person and a ferret person, LOVE school hate exams, loved chocolate in anything, and I dread runnning until Im actually out there than I love it!
love this post girl! you be YOU!! God created you to be unique!!! that looks AWESOME- love the addition of coconut milk in the ice cream!
I like this idea!! just me….I wake up early and I like it…..I read biology textbooks for fun cuz I love it…..A really intense, painful cardio workout is how I relieve stress….I hate hate hate mexican food…..aand if I could just wear my running clothes all the time (clean ones, obviously), I’d be set!
Aww I loveee this! And I am with you on not liking the chips in mint-chip ice cream. They’re too cold so the don’t melt and it’s just ick! Some me-isms that I have are dislikeing Italian food (yes, pasta and pizza.) it just makes me feel sick and weghed down when I eat it and marinara type sauce upsets my tummy. Also, I probably eat more apples in a day than the average person eats in a whole week!! I am no ahamed of this
Love this post! I don’t really like mint ice cream, but your version sounds tempting. Love the star shaped ice cubes!
